e are an initiative of faith-based
peacemakers from across Chicago's western suburbs. The West Suburban Faith-based Peace
Coalition includes clergy, congregations, staff, lay persons, faith-based peace organizations,
peace and justice committees, religious communities, and more, spanning from Oak Park to
Aurora and Joliet. WSFPC is committed to sustaining work of peace through activities such
as public action, interfaith dialogue, peace education, lobbying/legislative initiatives,
and humanitarian relief projects.
- We believe that peace must begin at the individual level, be nurtured by prayer and
reflection, and extended outward through right relationships in our homes, local communities,
our nation, and across the global community.
- We appeal to and implore our governmental leaders to adequately fund critically needed
domestic social programs - serving the neediest among us. This is a mandate of our faith
calling; it also tangibly serves our U.S. national security interests.
- We call for humanitarian relief, at home and abroad, and the strengthening of support for
systems of international law, thereby enhancing global security world wide.
We hope you'll consider joining the West Suburban Faith-based
Peace Coalition and support the work for peace in Chicago's western suburbs.
